Training Division
The Palm Beach County School District Police Department Training Unit is committed to
providing the highest standards of training, including de-escalation and critical thinking. The
Training Unit is dedicated to providing comprehensive training programs for School District
employees. This includes new hire orientation and training, leadership training, annual training,
high liability training, and specialized instruction for sworn law enforcement personnel,
educators, and professional staff.
Our Training Unit also manages the Field Training Officer (FTO) Program equipping new
officers with the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in a school-based environment
and the Emergency Field Force Operations (EFF), we ensure personnel are equipped with the
skills necessary to respond effectively to emergencies and operational challenges.
Training Facilities
The Training Unit operates multiple facilities throughout Palm Beach County, including:
- Primary Training Facility: Located in Delray Beach, FL
- Safe Schools Institute: Located in Boca Raton, FL
- Old Adult Education Facility: Located in West Palm Beach, FL

The Training Unit is led by a dedicated team consisting of:
- 1 Captain
- 1 Training Sergeant
- 3 Training Officers
- Multiple adjunct instructors
- 1 Administrative Assistant
